Last year Ravi was preaching in Moscow on May 18th, 2019; a year and a day later he died. His death was a shock to many. Just last year Ravi was full of health. He spoke at Passion 2020 conference. Later he had back surgery. During this medical procedure Ravi discovered that he had cancer. Many prayers were sent his way. However, the miracle of healing didn't happen.
During his life, Ravi went to places where many couldn't go. He spoke in front of the leaders from Middle East. Ravi had a great ability to persuade people. He could converse with people who were against Christianity. Ravi also spoke in front of military leaders and politicians. He knew how to answer any question. He was the mentor of Nabeel Qureshi, who was one of the most famous apologists.
Nabeel passed away at the age of 34 from stomach cancer. He left behind his wife and young daughter. Nabeel was born and raised in the USA to a devout Muslim family. While at college, he became friends with a Christian. After much studying, Nabeel became a Christian. After some time he joined RZIM. Nabeel was so trusting in Jesus Christ for his salvation that he was ready to leave his family. Initially, his parents disowned him. By the grace of the Lord, Nabeel was able to reconcile with his parents and sister.
Ravi left tremendous legacy behind. Most likely his shoes wouldn't be filled soon. His team at RZIM is great. I hope they will have the same courage and wisdom as Ravi and Nabeel did. Neither of the shied away from talking about Jesus Christ and eternal life.
