Santa vs. Jesus

Santa vs Jesus

During Christmas Season people here name 'Santa' way more than they hear 'Jesus'. However, the story of Christmas is the story of Jesus.

Interestingly enough, the origin of Santa has also Christian roots.  It is important to explain children difference between Jesus and Santa.  At our church Christmas Dinner one of our Deacons made a comparison between Santa and Jesus. He did an amazing job. Below is the list of few more things that I've decided to add.
Santa visits children in several countries. Jesus is not geographically limited. He transcends borders. Matthew 28:19, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Santa has elves. Jesus  rules over the angels.
You live milk and cookies for Santa. You leave, or rather surrender, your broken heart, your circumstances, your problems, your life, and your sins to Jesus.
If you have been bad, Santa might leave you without a present; you can never be good enough to receive  the main gift from Jesus. He paid the fee already.
You cant stay in touch with Santa past Christmas. Jesus  becomes part of your life.
Santa's can only satisfy temporarily. Jesus can quench our everlasting thirst. His gifts are not only for this life, but for eternity. "Jesus answered her,'If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you ask me, and I would give you living water,' " John 4:10.
Santa might give you what you want. Jesus gives you what you need, always.
Santa cannot promise you what he'll give you next year. Jesus promises eternal life. "And this is the promise that He made to us--eternal life." 1 John 2:25.
Santa's coming is announced by sleigh with jingling bells. When Jesus came for the first time, angels and brightest star announced His first coming. His Second Coming will be like lightening at the skies. No one in the world will miss it.
Santa will not let you in his home. Jesus prepares room for you in the Father's mansion.
Santa can only visit on place at a time. Jesus  is everywhere.
Santa never introduces, or tells you about his family. Jesus  wants you to join his.
Santa comes only to children. Jesus reaches out all people, especially those who are marginalized, desperate, brokenhearted, widows, orphans, poor and so many more.
Santa stops giving you gifts once you become an adult. Nothing can ever separate you from the love of Jesus.
Santa needs to read your letter, so he'll know how you feel and what is it that you want. Jesus already knows everything.
You can surprise Santa in so many ways. You can't surprise Jesus.
Santa's presents give you momentarily happiness. Probably in a few months you'll start to think, "What can I ask Santa for this Christmas?" Jesus will set you free. He'll give you things that you would never imagine.
You can never become Santa's helper. You can be Jesus' hands and feet.
Santa has compliments for you. Jesus loves you. In fact he loves you o much that he died for your sins on the cross.
